Linz Day 1

Well we finally got here! We are in Linz, Austria! And boy are we tired.  The flight over here was alright but a a little uncomfortable due to lack of leg, elbow and basically....body room.

Our plane!
3/4 of the quartet waiting in the airport!  That's Phillip (left) and Mike (middle).

Our plane!

Pre-8 hr flight photo!

8 hours later....

Michael is in Germany!
And so am I!

When we landed in Frankfurt we found a Deutches Bank ATM and withdrew some Euros! But in order to do that we had to go outside the airport and go through security again but that didn't take long at all (and Michael got his first passport stamp!)

We had a four hour wait in Frankfurt before our connection flight left and then our flight was delayed a half hour because they needed a bigger plane.  Most of the people on this plane was going to the ITEC (International Tuba and Euphonium Conference) so we had about 20 tubas that needed a spot under the plane.

Tubas!
We sat on the plane waiting for them to load our cargo and low and behold....one..tuba could not fit.  The owner is a very prominent Tuba player that had a concert in Linz THAT NIGHT so as you can guess...he was very upset and stressed.  So much so that he got off the plane,  put on a neon vest that the airport workers wear and made sure that his tuba would get on board.  It ended up riding in the cockpit.

After the first flight I got a little motion sick..the landing was AWFUL! So on the next flight I wanted to be prepared so I took some chewable Dramamine.  It..did...not....taste good at all.  So of course...Michael took my picture.

Pre- Linz flight

We are in Austria!

That's a lot of Tubas!

The shuttle ride to the hotel has a two person passenger seat in the front!
Our hotel! (Or hostel I should say...)

Here is my room...nothing fancy but it works :)

Our first souvenir!
We finally got to the hotel and collapsed.  Then we showered up, found some dinner at a restaurant around the corner, came back home and collapsed again.
This is where we ate dinner.

Well I finally got yesterday uploladed!  Now I'll start working on today!
